Description |
Black and white photograph depicting Pulaski Legion Banner; Created by the Moravian Sisterhood, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Maryland Historical Society Collection. The Pulaski banner is about 20 inches square and was attached to a lance. On its right side there is all-seing eye in a triangle. There are yellow rays and stars around the eye, and an inscription: "NON ALIUS REGIT" - no other governs. On the reverse side are the letters US (supposedly used for the first time on a flag) and around them the words UNITA VIRTUS FORCIOR [sic] - UNITED VALOR ID STRONGER. The banner was in crimson silk with yellow threads, and the Latin inscriptions were greenish in color. |
