Union Kepi
A replica of the 58th NY Vol. Inf Regiment forage cap made circa 1990. The (original) cap was worn in the Civil War (1861- 1865) by both USA and CSA troops. On the top of the cap is a blue felt crescent with the regimental number (58th) below it. On the right side of the kepi is a pin to hold the turkey feather quill used by the soldier to write correspondence.

Two loops are embedded into the lead to facilitate fastening the plate on to your cartridge box strap.
